Your tributes to Michael Ecclestone
Tributes
have been paid to a popular taxi driver who died after his
vehicle was in a car crash on the A47. Michael Ecclestone,
64, known as Mr Mouse to his friends because of his quiet
demeanour, was killed when his car left the dual carriageway
close to Postwick and overturned in a field.

I would like to pay a special tribute to Michael
Ecclestone, the Kestral taxi driver, who has been sadly
taken away.
My family and I always use Kestral and we are very saddened
to read that he died so tragically.
He was always so incredibly helpful, he always took our
bags and opened the doors for us. He was always interested
to know where we were going and seemed like a very genuine
person. Over the years we had got to know him and would
often joke when he picked us up, and said where are we going
this time, yet in spite of all of that, we didn't know his
name.
When I read the article and saw his picture, I couldn't
believe and still cannot believe that a wonderful caring
person has been taken away.
The Kestral taxi services will never be the same and as
a regular customer, myself and my family, will miss him.
I would like to take this opportunity to pass on our deepest
sympathy to his family and friends.
Kind Regards
Hayley W and Stephanie W
New Costessey.
I was so shocked to hear of Michaels death.Such
a happy man, he will be missed. Whenever I got in his taxi
he was always smiling and he used to tell me about his wife.
Nothing was too much trouble. Gone but I will never forget
his happy ways. God bless him. Betty
Michael Ecclestone was a diamond in
the sand. He was also my mum's, Betty Farman's cousin. He
touched the hearts of everyone he met, and despite all the
worries he may have had he always had a smile for you.
When my dad passed away at the beginning of the year, he
couldn't have done more, he knew that call to kestral in
the early hours of the morning only meant one thing, and
he was that diamond and had a hug on standby for us.
My children and myself always called him Uncle Michael as
to us he was like that.
We will miss you and never replace that smile.
Love Betty, Lynne, Ronnie, Tracey & Ronnie Jnr

How saddened we were to hear the tragic news
of a good friend for so many years. It is still hard to
believe. No more to walk down our drive with a cheery hello.
Will recall happier times and especially your helping hand
whenever needed. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our condolences to Shirley and the family. Time for a well
earned rest. God bless .
Val and Les.

I have just learned of Michael's passing.
I have known him for over 20 years, and wish to state that
he was without equal one of the most caring and considerate
people I have ever known. Every time I would book a taxi
with Kestral, I would hope it would be he who would arrive,
as I always enjoyed the brief 10-15minutes time we had together.
Mickey always had a smile, always a listening ear - a true
gentleman in every respect. I will greatly miss you Mickey
- may your God go with you.
