From 23 June - 31 August
the city was over-run by a host of elephants,
as
Norwich played host to Go Elephants!
This mammoth event turned the streets,
parks and public spaces of Norwich into an urban savannah.
The elephants will be sold at a gala auction on September
23. Contact The Forum Trust for ticket availability
- see the Go Elephants website (link at foot of this
page).
 Go
Elephants was organised by The Forum Trust and Wild
in
Art. Each elephant was decorated by local artists,
celebrities and community groups, creating an outdoor
art gallery showcasing the creativity of Norwich and
the wider East Anglian region.

Elephants are made of fibreglass, decorated
with paints and other materials and then finished
to
be weatherproof. Each weighs approximately 50kg and
measures approximately 170cm long, 120cm tall and 75cm
wide.
Where’s
Elly?
The
Evening News teamed up with the Forum Trust and
Go Elephants to offer an exclusive competition for
our younger elephant spotters. We
hid 33 mini elephants, designed by art students
at Norwich City College, in 23 locations in the city.
You had to find just 15 - but if you
didn't go looking, then sorry, you're too late, as
the elephant trail is now over! But if you did find
them, make sure you entry is with us by Friday, September
5.

One of five lucky
winners will walk away with a £30 electronic
gift card for Borders and a Young Saver Account with
Norwich and Peterborough Building
Society with your first £50 already in place!
